computing: software: Microsoft Windows/Samba: Network Neighborhood

Overview

Example of a Network Neighborhood being browsed by Windows Explorer. One computer is in the default "MSHOME" workgroup, and the rest all belong to "Pinecrest".

"Network Neighborhood" is what Microsoft Windows calls the listing of SMB protocol servers on the local (non-routed) network.

This page is a seed article. You can help HTYP water it: make a request to expand a given page and/or donate to help give us more writing-hours!

The "Network Neighborhood" was introduced in Windows 95.
