- chicken available only occasionally
2005
As of 2005-11-12, they had fresh (packed on 11/10) free-range antibiotic-free chicken legs available at the Durham Farmers' Market.
This email was received by a customer on 2005-11-23, and appears to have some information of more general interest:
Thank you all for signing up for off-season egg delivery from Fickle Creek Farm! Remember that deliveries start this Saturday already! Please let me know by e-m if you cannot make it this week or if you want more or fewer eggs than you signed up for. Delivery will be to Central Park School for Children, and I will be there from 9-11 a.m. The school is located across the street from Man Bites Dog Theater and is about a mile from our usual parking lot location at
The reason I will be at the school is because several other DFM vendors expressed interest in selling the same days that I deliver. Dorothy Booth of Angel's Nest (baked goods) in particular wanted to continue making her products available in the off season. She has arranged for us to rent the school auditorium for the mornings I deliver so that we would be in from the cold and have access to a restroom. This sounds like a win-win-win in providing income to the school, shelter for us, and more products for you all. The only one besides me for sure this week is Dorothy with her baked goods. We likely will have others joining us (perhaps dulcimer music, SEEDS, others). This new plan is in flux, and I am excited to see how it evolves. For now it is not officially the Durham Farmers' Market, but it may be the first step toward a year-round market in future. Have a great Thanksgiving Day. Thanks again, and see you Saturday, |
