When Me to Them When Them to Me What I Get From That
9/21/21 3:47:16 PM EDT The payee says that the four pending charges shown in the attached screenshot as "MED*[REDACTED] PSY" are "denied" on her end -- so they should be removed from the listing of pending charges. Is there anything she needs to do in order to successfully run these charges again? (Two were intended; the other two were retries done with my consent.) Thank you!

  • The four transactions I listed are not actually pending, even though they show that way in the screenshot.
9/21/21 5:14:39 PM EDT Can you tell me when the pending charges will be removed? Thanks. 09/22/21 02:55:53 EDT

  • They think they already responded to this question.
9/22/21 6:28:14 AM MDT You did reply previously, but did not answer my question. The four denied charges are still showing as "pending" on my account, and being deducted from my available credit. When will they be removed? 09/22/21 14:01:32 EDT Hi Woozalia,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your Synchrony Bank account, and the opportunity to be of service to you.

As of September 22, 2021, you currently have $150.00 available for additional purchases and your current balance is $5,236.77.

When viewing your account balance online, it includes all "posted" transactions to date. Any "pending" transaction will affect your available credit instantly but will not be reflected in your balance until it has posted to your account.

An initial pre-authorization is provided at the time your order is submitted, reducing your available credit. Please be advised that even when orders are canceled, the pre-authorizations may take 7-10 days to fall off your account. Unfortunately, we are not able to delete the pre-authorizations manually.

We appreciate you as a valued Synchrony Bank account customer. If you have any questions or if we may be of further assistance, please contact us via the Online Message Center or at 1-866-893-7864

  • My understanding of my current balance and available credit is correct.
  • Pre-authorizations may take 7-10 days to "fall off" the account.
  • They can't delete them manually. (Presumably an algorithm somewhere is doing that?)
  • Presumably all of the charges listed as "pending" are considered "pre-authorizations".
9/22/21 10:03:32 AM EDT This still does not answer my question. There are declined charges still showing in my "pending charges" list. When will they be removed? 09/22/21 14:44:47 EDT Hi Woozalia,

  • (REPEAT) Pre-authorizations may take 7-10 days to "fall off" the account.
  • (REPEAT) They can't delete them manually.
9/23/21 5:50:36 PM EDT If the maximum time is 10 days, then there's clearly something wrong here -- I have pending charges (including two from the same payee) back as far as Sept. 7-8 (see attached screenshot). 10 Days would be Sept. 17, which was 6 days ago. Can you please look into this and see what's going on? Thanks.

09/24/21 10:12:37 EDT Hi Woozalia,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your Synchrony Bank account, and the opportunity to be of service to you.

Good Day! Hope this email finds you well.

Thank you for the additional information you have provided.

An initial pre-authorization is provided at the time your order is submitted, reducing your available credit. Our records indicate that there are approved un posted transactions on the account. One for $49.95 on September 24, 2021, $21.49, $73.06 and $13.32 on September 23, 2021.

The available credit on the account as of September 24, 2021 is $6.00. The charges for $185.00 on September 21, 2021 is declined due to over limit.

This may be due to the non receipt of any pending order with the Store/ Merchant. Therefore we recommend that you contact the Store/Merchant/ Service provider and check for the pending order. Usually the charge will be posted on the account in 3-5 business days. If the charge has been canceled the pre-authorizations may take 7-10 days to fall off your account. In some cases, the merchant may have forgotten to remove the pre-authorization. Unfortunately, we are not able to delete/approve the pre-authorizations manually.

Sending wishes of good health and many blessing your way!!!

We appreciate you as a valued Synchrony Bank account customer. If you have any questions or if we may be of further assistance, please contact us via the Online Message Center or at 1-866-893-7864

  • In addition to the pending charges I've mentioned, they see four others. (...all of which are legitimate and cleared as far as I can tell.)
  • My understanding of my current balance and available credit continues to be correct.
  • They didn't take in the part where I mentioned that I had been in touch with the payee and she said the charges were declined on her end.
  • (REPEAT 2) Pre-authorizations may take 7-10 days to "fall off" the account.
  • (REPEAT 2) They can't delete them manually.
9/24/21 8:29:16 AM EDT The charges you listed are all fine and authorized by me. There are SIX TRANSACTIONS of $185 EACH which were DECLINED on the merchant side but STILL SHOWING AS PENDING, two of them for MUCH LONGER THAN 10 DAYS. THESE NEED TO BE REMOVED. 09/24/21 14:32:32 EDT Hi Woozalia,

  • My understanding of my current balance and available credit continues to be correct.
  • They note what is probably a new charge-attempt which is not showing up in pending because it was declined. (Why did the others show up?)
  • "These transactions" will not [be] include[d] on my balance -- but which transactions do they mean?
9/27/21 8:36:10 AM MDT You said: "Please be assured, these transactions will not post on your account also will not include in your balance." -- they are still showing on my pending charges, filling up my credit balance and preventing me from using the card. WHEN WILL THEY BE REMOVED? Thank you. 09/27/21 17:13:24 EDT Hi Woozalia,
