Overview
Elgg is a free/open source social networking web application. It is written in PHP and uses MySQL for database operations.

- Problem: As of 2009-02-19, the privacy settings don't work for uploaded documents. I created a public group, then uploaded a document marked as "private" to the group. I was able to retrieve the document on another browser without logging in. It's one thing not to implement privacy settings, but if they exist they should work properly or people may be misled into posting private stuff publicly. --Woozle 07:23, 12 February 2009 (EST)
- Update: changing the group's access permissions to "logged-in users only" didn't affect access to the file; I could still list it and download it.
