How To
The Signal download page has instructions for installing the desktop on Linux. To set up the app after installing, you have to use your mobile to authorize the connection:
- In the settings on your phone, go to the linked-devices listing.
- There is a blue "(+)" button at the bottom right -- press that.
- This will activate the camera so that Signal can scan the QR code and add your desktop.
- Note that this is the exact same mechanism as used by the Discord QR exploit.
