Notes
When transferring a phone number from one carrier to another, it is necessary to know the account number on the old carrier. Republic used to set the account number the same as the phone number, but sometime around their acquisition by Dish Wireless in 2022 (after which they started branding themselves as "Republic Wireless by DISH") they started using a different system where the user can only find their account number by voice-calling Republic's customer support number -- an example of customer lock-in.
