Overview
The technology of touchscreen input devices has made considerable progress recently, as increasing data-processing capacity has made it practical to use much richer input data than has been generally available for the past 2-3 decades. Touchscreen is now evolving past the stage of being just a replacement for one keyboard + one mouse, as some newer screens can now read multiple inputs (fingers), detect finger "spread" (how much finger surface is touching, to influence line thickness), and even discriminate between different users (e.g. for drawing in different colors).
