GNU Screen is a GNU command line application which lets you create and access virtual terminal sessions.
Notes
From outside screen:
screen -Rreconnects to the most recently-created session.screen -lslists the available sessions.screen -r <pid.tty.host>reconnects to the specified session (note: .host is optional)
I haven't been able to figure out how to connect to a session other than the most recent one.
From within screen:
[CTRL-A] ddisconnects from the current session (but does not end it)
