About

The Hughes Center for Exceptional Children is a residential psychiatric treatment facility owned and operated by Psychiatric Solutions. It is located in Danville, VA. It is a campus style facility with 56 beds, serving males and females ages 13 to 22 diagnosed with mental retardation and an Axis I diagnosis or pervasive developmental disorder/autism.

From their PR web site:

The Center works to help young men and women learn how to be successful at home, at school and in the community. The Center also operates a day school under the name The Hughes Educational Center, providing 16 slots for students ages 5 to 22. The main focus of the day school is youth with mental retardation or with pervasive developmental disorders including Autism and Asperger's.
