About
A group home is a type of assisted living facility with multiple residents living together under the supervision of one or more competent adults.
The term appears to be used primarily for facilities suited for residents with developmental or psychological issues (mental retardation, autism, addiction) rather than issues more commonly associated with old age (e.g. need for continual medical care, senility, physical frailty); the latter type of facility is generally referred to as a rest home.
