VBA stands for Visual Basic for Applications, a version of Microsoft's Visual Basic designed specifically for the purpose of adding programming features to end-user applications. Its most popular use is in Microsoft Access, where it is often used (for better or for worse) for business-critical data processing applications due largely to its very smooth integration with Access's data-handling user interface and the resulting intuitiveness it provides.
