About
The M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R is a USB 2.0 multitrack audio interface with 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, and a number of other ports.
Linux
The device mostly-works in Linux without any further tinkering, but the existing interface software is awkward; see Linux.
By default, playing system audio resulted in audio with a short-delay echo on output channels 1-4, and mono output on all channels. Also, the system insists on seeing it as a Surround Sound device, which it isn't.
This device apparently works the same as the regular (non-rackmount) Fast Track Ultra, so see the parent article for more information.
