business: co-working

Overview

Co-working has come to refer to the practice of creating work-friendly spaces for independent business people and telecommuters to do work while being able to get away from the distracting environments generally present in other work-spaces available to them such as home, coffee shops, and sidewalk cafés.

Spelling

I am resisting what seems to be the common spelling, "coworker" (no hyphen), because this looks too much like it is a contraction of "Cow Orker". People who work in office cube farms generally feel enough like cattle as it is, and those who co-work are obviously trying to get away from that as much as possible. -W.
