This is the quantity needed overall, in order to meet customer needs and any stock minimum which may be set for this item.
In other words, this is the quantity we want to request from the supplier.
The actual amount ordered defaults to this, but sometimes the administrator creating the restock request will increment the amount ordered (e.g. to take advantage of a sale).
