Nick, I put this page up to have a short URL on a card I distributed so people would not have to type in a long url to get to the dollar a gallon gasoline page.

Probably should have done it some other way.

Panel at Denvention went very well. Was recorded, perhaps I can get the guys who did it to put the video up somewhere.

ok for now

I've turned the DTC page into a redirect to "design to cost" (try the link, you'll see how it works) for now; when you think the card has passed its major usefulness, we'll revert back to DTC as a disambiguation/acronym page. I'm pretty sure there are other things DTC stands for (e.g. I seem to recall it's the name of a signal on a standard serial cable, but I could be wrong). I had already moved the content you originally posted on DTC over to design to cost.

Hope that makes sense; let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! --Woozle 15:06, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

original content

save this content for later, when HKH's card has passed its shelf life... [[category:acronyms]] [[DTC]] stands for: * [[design to cost]] "Design to cost is a management strategy and supporting methodologies to achieve an affordable product by treating target cost as an independent design parameter that needs to be achieved during the development of a product." [[1]] This was applied to the dollar a gallon gasoline project. See "Dollar_a_gallon_gasoline" [[http://htyp.org/Dollar_a_gallon_gasoline]] (Also see discussion page)
