The Red House Yellow Pages ([http://web.archive.org/web/20010429013208/redhouse.com/dir/ archive]), which I had to abandon because the time spent maintaining it was beginning to be a drain – in part because people were starting to use it, and wanted to add listings; in other words, it was killed by the beginnings of its potential success.
