New page

''list of hormones commonly used will eventually go here''

HRT requires two types of provider: (1) a doctor or nurse practitioner to prescribe them, and (2) a pharmacy from which to purchase them.
==Notes==
[[GoodRx]] appears to be a good tool for finding the best prices (and they do vary considerably) for various prescription hormones. For example:
* [http://www.goodrx.com/estradiol?drug-name=estradiol&form=tablet&dosage=2mg&quantity=30&days_supply=&label_override=estradiol estradiol 2mg tablets, 30 day supply]

Some prescription providers seem to be unaware of the sublingual option for estradiol tablets, which is cheaper than either patches or injections (and the easiest form to deal with for many people, though some people prefer patches). They taste mildly sugary with no significant aftertaste. They are very small and dissolve completely in 5-10 minutes.

Spirinolactone tablets taste somewhat minty and slightly bitter. They are also quite small and easy to swallow.
