i say "i deposited that check on thursday, when's it going to clear?"

"it should clear... in two days you'll be okay."

"uhhh, i'm stuck at a gas station. two days isn't going to work."

so she calls the branch that i deposted the check at, the ones with the hold.

and apparently the reason there's a hold is that the deposit was larger then is typical for my account.

me: "Well, DUH. that's typically what happens when you change banks"

eventually i got them to release the hold, but d'oi, what stupidity!
